Travel information

Our services operate seven days a week, providing more than 5 million people each year with an affordable and reliable way to get around Brisbane. Our CityCats cruise up and down the river between UQ St Lucia and Northshore Hamilton at a top speed of 25 knots whilst our smaller cross river CityFerries and CityHopper services cruise at a more leisurely pace of around 10 knots. Beat the city traffic and experience Brisbane from the water. The meandering waters of the Brisbane River connect to a wealth of recreational, environmental, cultural and dining experiences.

Get your go card today! The go card is TransLink's electronic ticket to fast, easy and convenient travel in South East Queensland. Whilst you can purchase a ticket with cash on board our services it is recommended to use a go card to access cheaper fares. With a go card, all you need to do is top up the balance online or at one of the hundreds of participating retailers (including aboard CityCats), then touch on each time you board and touch off each time you disembark a ferry (free CityHopper services excluded). Fares are calculated automatically and based on the number of zones you travel through during your journey. The fare is deducted from your go card balance when touching off at the end of your journey.

To find out more about zones, go cards, and other types of tickets, including single paper tickets, concessions and special access passes, visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.
